Kaycho: A Culinary Journey Rooted in Care

In India, there’s a question as a greeting that carries a warmth beyond words— a phrase so heartfelt it’s shared between strangers and loved ones alike “കയ്ചോ?” (Kaycho?) or “Did you eat?” It’s not just about filling a plate; it’s a way of filling hearts, a way of saying, “I care.” At Kaycho, this spirit of care and connection is infused into every bite of our contemporary fusion food, bringing traditional Indian ingredients to life with modern flavors and innovative techniques.

Our story began with a group of friends who believed in the power of sharing food and wanted to celebrate the beauty of this simple question. Inspired by how people in Newcastle ask, “Alreet?” as a sign of connection, Kaycho was born to merge the warmth of India with the soul of Newcastle, creating a space where every diner feels truly seen and welcomed. Our restaurant is a project born from friendship, created by a group of friends with one shared dream: to bring the cherished flavors and hospitality of India to the world in a fresh, innovative way. Kaycho is more than a place to dine—it’s a welcoming space where food and connection come together to reflect the joy and warmth that “KAYCHO?” truly represents.

Make a Reservation

You can make a reservation any time online or by calling +44 7767 747719 during our opening hours:

Reservation Policy
  1. Group Reservations & Deposits
  • For groups of 6 or more, please contact us directly to make a reservation. A £5 deposit per person is required to secure the booking.
  • The deposit is refundable if the cancellation is made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the reservation will result in the deposit being non-refundable.
  • All group bookings must be made by calling the restaurant directly. Online reservations are not available for groups of 6 or more.
  1. Dining Time Allocations
  • Tables of 2-3 guests: 1.5 hours dining time.
  • Tables of 4-5 guests: 2 hours dining time.
  • Groups of 6 or more: 2 hours dining time.
  1. Table Holding Time
  • Tables will be held for 10 minutes after the reservation time.
  • If the party has not arrived or informed the restaurant within this time, the table may be released to other guests.
  1. Outside Drinks Policy
  • No outside drinks are allowed in the restaurant.
  1. Special Events
  • On special events, only a set menu will be available.
